List!

Ten things I either did or experienced so far today:

1. Slept past noon
2. Watched a countdown show
3. Realized the internet is no longer amusing
4. Found chapstick in a drawer for my chapped lips
5. Cut my hair
6. Played two games of Freecell (won one, lost one)
7. Ventured outside in my bathrobe to get the mail
8. Hung a picture
9. Listened to Snoop Dogg's "Lodi Dodi" (yeah, that's right, sometimes that's how I get down)
10. Showered, got dressed...and it went a little something like this:

"Clean, dry was my body and hair
I threw on my brand new Doggy underwear
for all the bitches I might take home
I got the Johnson baby powder and Cool Water cologne
Now I'm fresh dressed, like a million bucks
Threw on my white sox, with my all blue Chucks"

It's a Doggy Dogg world.

Store Musings

Listening to the Pixies. My day is better. God I love this band. They will always put me in a better mood. No matter what. Only a few bands do that to me. Pavement comes to mind as another one. Thirty somethings come in the store and suddenly bob their head to "Gigantic". I've made their day better.

And I'll Feel Pretty, Another Hour Or Two

I just saw the Northen Lights play with Death Comes to Matteson. Good show. Now I'm experiencing the usual after rock show symptoms. I want to play guitar, possibly half naked. I don't know though, it's pretty cold for all that. I'll just have to listen to Elliott Smith and repress my urge to rock out.

"read the part and return at five
it's a hell of a role if you can keep it alive
but i don't care if I fuck up
i'm going on a date with a rich white lady
ain't life great?"

Rattled By The Rush

Had a burst of genius and I quickly smothered it in distortion and dissonance until I had destroyed the very notion of its short existence. Does that even make sense? Of course not. I'm mildly inhibriated and its another interesting Friday night spent playing guitar half naked. Pavement is filling my ears with stories of dental surf combat and having no soap in the john and other things that don't make sense. But then Stephen Malkmus sings:

I'm drowning for your thirst
Drowning for your thirst
Drowning for your thirst
Drowning for your thirst

and it all makes slightly more sense. However, my current social condition and choice of clothes (or lack thereof) does not...
